Excursions
Be Your Own Guide

When you begin your studies with Oaxaca Spanish Magic, we will give you a comprehensive list of excursions, art and cultural explorations, and museum and site locations and hours of operation. We will provide you with information about the colorful and fascinating local mercados (markets), and make certain you are aware of the opportunities to enjoy current fiestas. If you wish, we will provide you with contacts for art lessons and cooking classes. If you want to visit the workshops of Oaxacan artisans, we will help you make the proper connections, or accompany you to the tallers (workshops and studios). You will be the one to decide when, how and which options fit your interests and time. We will help facilitate the choices you make, as you wish.
Excursions Guided By Oaxaca Spanish Magic

We have developed our own guided excursions specifically to enrich your knowledge of Oaxacan history, art, culture and architecture in ways that will also increase your understanding and abilities in Spanish language. We are happy to share our love and knowledge of Oaxaca with you individually or in small groups. Whether you are a beginning or advanced speaker, we especially tailor our excursions to involve you interactively in seeing and learning.

Our guides speak Spanish, Zapotec, English, and French. They bring their extensive experience to each tour guest by focusing on her/his specific interests and language skills. Using a combination of the tour participant’s native language and Spanish as appropriate, our guides work to assure that both the content of the excursion and the interests of learning Spanish are honored.
